Data Sources

All franchise data on FranchiseVS is extracted from publicly filed Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDDs). These documents are filed by franchisors with state regulatory agencies as required by the FTC Franchise Rule (16 CFR Part 436).

Our primary sources are state franchise registration databases, including Minnesota (CARDS system). FDD data is extracted using automated text processing and verified through multi-layer validation.

Data Accuracy

We assign confidence scores to each data point and flag low-confidence extractions. Always verify critical figures against the original FDD before making investment decisions.

Health Score Methodology

Our Health Score (1-100) is a composite metric based on: system growth rate (30%), financial transparency (15%), data extraction confidence (15%), fee burden (20%), and system scale (20%). It is not an endorsement or recommendation of any franchise opportunity.
